I have a 2004 VW Polo (1.4), I've had some problems with it overusing engine oil.
For example over a journey of 200 miles, I've seen the oil measurement drop by around 1/4 of the tank.
I've taken it to be looked at in the VW garage and they have found nothing wrong with it; no leaks, no smoke of any colour coming from the exhaust. Their guidance was to continue monitoring the oil level, and if it keeps on happening then an entire engine stripping will be needed.
In the past I have put mineral engine oil in, which I've seen is not the best type for this car.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be going on here?
