We have a citroen C5 with some major electrical issues! The engine will not start and the starter does not crank. When the key is turned to start the engine all we hear is a click from the bsi in the glovebox with suspension faults, abs faults etc on the dash.
Now I have tried to run a scan on this car with lexia but it has no communication with any ecu except from the engine ecu which it refers to as 'ECU not recognised' rather than 'no communication' which it has with all other ecu including the bsi.
So, I ran a scan with my Delphi kit which brought up faults,
Engine ECU - U0015, Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus (-) Open
It also brought up various other communication faults in other ecu's all communication problems with main ecu.
We have checked fuses, connections, plugs and receiver on ignition barrel for continuity and any water damage + also tried the bsi reset procedure.
In delphi live data we can see the receiver is picking up a signal from the key, Transponder code is 'accepted' when key is in the ignition with ignition on. Also it shows the BSI is paired with the ECU and ECU is Locked. 2 keys are programmed, Key 1 + Key 2 Not syncronised.
Lights, horn, wipers and central locking work although the central locking does seem to lose functionality often and we have to put key in ignition, hold lock button for 5 secs etc to get it working again. We are able to do actuator tests on lights, locks, windows etc through the BSI too with the Delphi kit.
Also I found a parasitic drain of 1.4amps on the car which only dissapears when the 'SHUNT' link in the bsi is removed, which I believe is linked to the engine ecu
Now I am beginning to think this is probably either a fault in the BSI or Engine ECU unless it's as simple as the BSI losing the immobiliser code and has to be programmed again.
Anyone got any suggestions/ideas ?
