Had a crash today, who is liable?

I would really appreciate some advice on this please.

I was reversing out of a car park space in an enclosed car park today. I looked around and it was all clear to reverse out. As I did, out of nowhere I hit a car that had tried to get past me quickly. I got out of the car and asked the driver how it had happened, she said to me "I saw you reversing and I thought I could squeeze through". Her husband was quite annoyed that she was clearly incriminating herself by admitting liability so he started getting quite aggressive and abrupt. I was with my friend who was witness to all of this.

My car is brand new, 28 days old and I have had my license since February. I called my insurer who said because I was reversing I am automatically liable and the likelihood of them accepting liability is slim.

In my opinion it is quite clear from the photographs I took at the scene that the damage points towards it being the other drivers fault. The pictures I took show that my car was already 3/4 of the way out of the parking space on impact. The damage to my rear drivers side bumper has horizontal scratches amongst other things, which I feel backs up her claims that she thought she could "squeeze through". The damage to her car is on the drivers side rear also. Which in my opinion, if I had gone into her through my negligence, would not necessarily be at the back of her car but more to the front or central.

My questions are:
Am I doomed considering that I was reversing?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
