Scratched a parked Car

As the title says I recently scratched a parked car as I was coming out of the bay. I waited patiently for the owner to leave Tescos in order to pass on my details . I was originally going to sort it out without going through insurance but it has taken a while for them to get a quote, now that I have received a quote it is simply too much (have pictures of the damage).

I personally do not need to repair my car but they want to repair theirs. What should I do at this point, it's been four months since the incident. I've asked them to go straight through there insurance to mine.
