Side-swiped by a truck - oops!!

Hi ppl, I'm a 'new' member..and thought this a good site for advice / comments. Last Friday (21st Aug) at 5.30 pm, as I just started to turn left at a T-junction, my drivers' side rear wheel trim/panel was struck by the passenger side 'step-up' and front wheel bolts of an overtaking MAN TGS truck in the right lane. He needed to move a full lane to his left to make his exit via single lane before clearing the T-junction, (hope that makes sense). Because of damage to rear side panel, some ppl I've talked to say this will be an insurance write-off, but I've found a reputable 'bodyworks' who assure me they can avoid that. It's a 2007 C-Max 'Style' (1.6 petrol), value £3500. Anyhow, that's all down to the insurance now..I believe it was truck drivers' fault, as he 'moved left' before I cleared the junction..but equally, this type of 'incident' could be avoided by changing sequence of the lights, i.e. not letting left-turn traffic in inside lane, and forward traffic in outside lane go at the same time..so..(other than your sympathy..lol) who may I contact to make this suggestion to change the traffic light sequence?..thks brian
