Dilemma at a mini roundabout.

Saturday afternoon, I was waiting to turn left out of the leg of a T-junction. Traffic coming from my left was passing straight across, so no right turner would be making space for me. Eventually there was a break in the traffic coming from my right. The final car, a small red saloon with four young bucks in it, was a little way from the last one to pass in front of me, and this car had its L/H indicator winking. But it was travelling at a high speed fro turning left, so I waited for it to clear the junction - whatever the driver's intention.
But, during its final approach, I did think that if it does turn left at that speed it will most likely roll. With car in first gear, clutch down and holding it with the handbrake ready to release, I intended to shoot off smartly if it did turn left. It did occur to me that this left people waiting at the bus stop to my left vulnerable - but you don't deliberately sacrifice your self and your passenger (wife) to make a protective barrier for others, do you?
As it turned out, the car did go straight on, after which time I turned and followed it - its L/H indicator still flashing. During the short distance I followed it, before it turned off, there seemed to be quite a bit of boisterousness going on in the car.
