Was wondering if someone could help me make sense of an incident that happened to me and my mum today!
I approached a junction (which I use daily) which is on a hill onto a main B road. Upon approach the car in front of me indicated left and moved to the left of the giveway lines as she was turning left (a red diving school car with student at wheel) I then pulled alongside level to the right as I was turning right. It is one of those junctions that if two of you are turning opposite ways the person on the right can obscure the view of those turning left slightly.
Anyway as there is a road also directly opposite and a car was waiting to come across the main rd into the one we were sat waiting at, for a split second there was a 'who goes first moment'. Within a matter of seconds I heard a loud horn and turned to my left to see the driving instructor leaning across his student screaming at me that I was a 'fing idiot and to get out of the fing way!' As no car was behind me I rolled back slightly to see the student driver mouth 'sorry' with a look of dismay on her face. When she then pulled out to the left the instructor turned in his seat to use hand signals and mouth 'you fing stupid *****'!!!
My mum and children and I could not believe what we were seeing and were too shocked to respond quickly enough to take his reg down. I normally never allow others small minded road rage get to me but I can't get this incident out of my mind esp for the poor young student and the fact this guy is 'teaching' youngsters to drive!!
Clearly his reaction was at best unprofessional however even though I have been driving with a clean licence for over 20 years I cannot decide if I was in fact at fault. Any ideas anyone?
