Hello! Cutting a long story as short as I can..
A workman dropped his tool box from a height on to the back on my car smashing the window & wrecking the back
He is covered by public liability but my car is very old and after 4 months the insurance company have not been able to find the parts.
My car passed all its MOTs and was a great little Japanese car that took me everywhere and ran perfectly and had only 80k on the clock despite being 20 years old. Also it has been involved in two previous accidents and on one occasion written off because the cost of repair was greater than the value of the car.
I know that by law the insurance company have to put me back in my original position i.e. a good working car.
They're offering me £1.7k. However that is not going to get a car that runs as well as mine - therefore they are not putting me back in my original position. Any advice please?
