"Front Day Running Lights" not Day Running Lights as calling them DRL's makes it sound like the car will be lit on the front and back.
In daylight hours, not really a problem.
My issue is this. Too many people without these extra lights, drive without their lights on when it is beginning to get dark and with so called DRLs they are doing it even when it is pitch back in some areas.
Now they do it more than ever because, they're driving late at night on the motorway and they can see both in front of them without any problem because of these powerful LED lights and they can see their controls because most new cars come with permanently lit up dashboard controls.
I have on many occasions seen this on motorways late at night cars with their rear ends in complete darkness. If you flash them to tell them something is wrong, but they have no idea. Who pays attention to their tail lights at the best of times?
There is 2 simple fixes to this problem.
1) Have proper DRLs like in Sweden that light up the whole car! That way if somebody forgets their lights, we can still see them!!
2) permanent headlights like in eastern Europe and motorbikes in the UK.
(Also some cars have automatic lights that switch between, this is fine but sometimes their sensitivity isnt right)
I have already complained to the EU direct about this issue, who have just replied with an automatic style response telling me how great DRLs really are, while completely ignoring my actual point. The VCA and DFT in the UK are yet to respond.
Is it only me that cares about this?!?!?
Please back me up somebody!!
