Issues with car bought from second hand dealer, where do I stand?

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate any advice you could give me on an issue I have with a Renault Megane 1.6 dynamique (08 plate) which I purchased at the beginning of February.

Before we finalised the purchase of the car there were a couple of issues which needed to be rectified, the driver window was not closing/opening properly, and there was a slight rattle from the exhaust. The dealer said he would get both issues fixed, which he seemed to do, and then we agreed to buy the car?

A few days after we had taken the car a check emissions warning came on, I took it back to the garage, they said it was most likely a sensor issue and reset the warning light and said if it came on again to let them know. They were very dismissive, rude and intimidating, and I knew they were just fobbing me off. It came on again about 3 weeks later. We informed the dealer and they said to bring it in and they would look at it, it took around 3 weeks for them to give us a date that we could bring it in, they kept trying to ignore us but I persisted. During this time I noticed that the rear seats are both loose, one pad comes completely away from the car, the other lifts up and it will not lock down - I'm worried about this as I've had my baby in the car and I'm not sure whether that would have been a problem if we'd had an accident? During this time I also had to pop in three times for them to look at the window as it kept getting stuck - I dare not open it now :-(

Anyway, today they have finally got back to me and have said its the catalytic converter that has gone and it needs replacing at our cost, I'm still waiting for them to tell me whether they have fixed the seat pads. I've had really bad customer service from this dealer from the moment we drove out the garage and I'm wondering what my options are for telling them I want to reject the car as I've had nothing but issues since I bought it, but I'm not sure where I stand with this legally?

They keep quoting the 3 month warranty that came with the vehicle and are saying that once we drove out of their premises any issues, not covered under warranty, are not their problem.

Can anyone offer advice? I would really appreciate it. I just don't know what to do.

Thank you so much. Gemma
