Hello,
I'm driving a 1997 Volkswagen Polo 1.4, and I stupidly left the inside light on over night. This morning - what a surprise, the battery's gone flat and it won't start.
I'm quite happy jump starting cars and have done it several times on other vehicles, but I can't seem to access the positive terminal on the VW battery. Am I missing something? I've never had problems accessing battery terminals before! I lift the plastic casing ok, but I can't get an angle on the terminal to grip it with the crocodile clip of the jump cable - there's a metal bar in the way. Is there any way to gain easier access to the terminal, or am I going to have to buy new jump starter cables with a thinner crocodile clip? I don't really want to do this, as I've not even used these jump cables before - they've just sat in my boot, waiting for such an occurrence. It'd be disappointing to find out they are no use.
Any help much appreciated,
Thanks!
