Private Plate Transfer... Still waiting

Hey folks, wonder if anyone has had the experience of having to deal with the DVLA since everything was centralised and moved to Swansea?

I set the wheels in motion to buy a car from a dealership which was wearing a private plate... when i inquired about this, i found out that the previous owner wanted the plate back, and that they (the dealership) had submitted the relevant documentation to the DVLA on 31/07/2013

Now I agreed to purchase the car on 13/08/2013, with a collection date the following week.

I was supposed to pick the car up 5 days ago, but the dealership haven't received the amended docs from the DVLA... so the car can't be taxed.

I called the DVLA on Thursday who have said as far as they are concerned the transfer has taken place, they then gave me the cars new registration plate.

Now, what i'm trying to find out is how long it takes them to re-issue amended documentation... i think the change took place on their system tuesday/wednseday last week.

It probably sounds like i'm being impatient, but i've been waiting nearly 2 weeks to collect my new car... i know, i'm worse than a kid waiting for Christmas! lol
