New ignition barrel but new keys not remote

Hi All

We've just has a new ignition barrel fitted by a local garage but the keys that came with it are not remote keys, they appear to be valet keys and have a spanner symbol on them.

Therefore we now have a new non remote key for the ignition and the old remote key for the doors.

Is there any way of programming the old remote key to the new barrel so we don't have to have 2 keys.
