Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a car on the private market.
If you're buying a vehicle and the owner is in the process of removing the private plate (and therefore applying for an updated V5 log book) does the existing V5 green portion usually retained by the new owner on purchase (but obviously has the old/private plate details on it) provide sufficient evidence of ownership?
Is it best to leave the purchase until the seller has the new V5 with the new matching plate on the vehicle?
