Possible Airbag fault

Hopefully I can get an answer to this question. I have a VW Golf 2.0 Diesel 2005 model. When i switch the engine on, the airbag light goes off, along with every other warning light after 4 seconds as they should. Then the air bag lights flashes on and off about 6 times before permanently switching off.

I was just wondering if this means there is a fault with the air bag system?
