Hi all,
my 95 reg mazda 323 1.5 88hp is now reving to 3000rpm when started from cold. A previous problem with lots of blue smoke on start up was solved by replacing the rocker cover gasket which let oil leak into cyld 4 via spark plug. Everything else is perfect (i think) so hopefully this will be the last problem for while.
One mazda forum suggests that the egr valve be removed and blanked off but that sounds like male bovine poop to me. Can anyone on this forum please help me. I am not too fussed about it but i will soon have reason to leave the housing estate i live in at 3am and there are lots of babies and young kids where i live so I don't want to wake anymore them. Especially now that the two noisy families have moved out/ been evicted, that was entertaining.
Does this mean a new egr valve or can the one fitted be repaired/cleaned or could it be something else?
