i broke down on the 9th december 2014, the vehicle was picked up the next day, but this is where the fun begins, the first lorry to come out had a tarpaulin that covers the vehicle, well, it didnt fit over it, so they called another, so it got lifted and all fine...
i was on the way to the airport when it broke down, so i never saw it leave, my friends and work collegues met the breakdown trucks, he sent me a picture of the first one with the vehicle being taken back off the breakdown truck..which i still have.
so 1 month later when i arrive back, i park outside my house, when i look out of the window, i see a big scrap and scratches over the roof, and the aerial all bent.well, i then called my friend who told me he tried to put the taupaulin over the top and it hit , so thats why they called out the big truck.
i then called RAC customer care, (who dont care), they took all the details, i also took photos and the guy ont he phone said take it to a repairers and send the report in, which i did, i never heard anything for 2 weeks, so i called yesterday, i was told that a Melanie was going to call me back, this is where the fun begins, she calls back, quite nice first of all, and said we have spoken to the breakdown company and they have told us that they dont have any trucks with tarpaulins, so i said , im sorry ,but my friends dont lie and why would they, and why then was the 2nd truck called out, she said, because your vehicle was too big, this is where she wanted to hang up and kept repeating we are not liable, very rudely on the phone, i said can i have the name of the company as they are lying, where she repeated, we are not liable so thats that..she didnt care or even want to sort the problem out, well, funny enough 20 mins later after getting very upset with the call, i found the photo, and it in shows my vehicle on the breakdown truck with the tarpaulin, so i sent that to Melanie and also called RAC, this time a nice lady answered and she advised me to send the photo to her which i did, she assured me that there was a tarpaulin on that truck, she said she would personally send the email with photo to Melanie, now RAC might pick you up, but it seems if there is any problems, stay far away, they dont want to help and their customer Care is NO CARE AT ALL. i still havent heard any apology from Melanie or anything back. so looks like a solicitor will have to get involved to repair my roof...
be very careful everyone..
