U-turn accident claim

Hi all,

I recently had a car drive into the side of me whilst I was doing a u-turn in the road, and there is no way I can see how they could justify that it was in any way my fault. It was at a traffic light in front of a T-junction, I was at the front of the lights, and the other vehicle was behind me. The lights turned green, I pulled forwards slowly and was indicating right, as I turned and got to about 90degrees around, the vehicle behind me shot into the side of my drivers door at I would say around 15mph, and was clearly not paying due care and attention to the road, as they would've seen what I was doing and wouldn't have accelerated into the side of me. There were no signs not to do a u-turn there, and as far as I know, I followed the highway code regarding u-turn manoeuvres.

Does anybody have any helpful information regarding this matter as I'm almost being led to believe it may be a 50/50 fault claim which I am not happy about. I'd be very grateful to hear your experiences/opinions on the matter.

Kind regards

Tim
