I have looked on the net but not quite found the correct answer to this. I bought a car with a private plate on it and it means nothing to me but maybe someone else. I have spotted a reg for sale on the DVLA site not a company sales one for £250 and Im guessing the one I have is similar in price maybe a bit more but these things are subjective I know. So can I transfer the new private plate to the current car with private plate on or do I have to transfer to its original reg first? Will I be paying £80 twice once to retain the old private reg and £80 to transfer the new one or three times with the original reg in the middle of this swap??
