2004 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (115) 147,000 miles.
I'm having problems with my car starting. I wait for the heater plug light to go out then turn and release the key as normal. The car actually engages but won't fully kick in, it struggles to fully engage for anything up to 30 seconds. I always start the car with the clutch pedal pressed down but if I take my foot off it whilst the car is trying to start the whole car vibrates and cuts out! Also, the car seems to start better when the engine is cold, once the engine warms up it's a nightmare to start again.
I have recently had a new alternator on the car but I had the starting problem before this.
