Hi i bought a used 2007 vauxhall astra design from a dealer with 3 months warranty in september and after having the car for a week or so the emissions light cam on the dash. took it to the service department who put it on a diagnostics and because the light had gone out by then they said nothing wrong with it. a week later it cam back on and stayed on so they checked again and said it needed a new sensor and air hose which were fitted. after a couple of weeks the light then came back on yet again. i had a master air flow sensor fitted this time and have said that if it comes on again it will have to be sent to vauxhall to be fixed. i have 1 week of my warranty left but have been assured that because this is an ongoing problem i will still be covered but i am now worried it will lead to something else which wont be covered. what could be causing the light to have come on and does anyone know what my rights would be to some sort of refund/car exchange if this continues to happen? i purchased this car from a very well known dealer thinking i wouldnt have problems a week after purchase.
