engine cutting out when maneuvering & when driving at slower speeds

hi all, i have ford fusion 1.4(petrol) 2005 model car.Several times in the last few days, the engine of my car died while driving on the road. All times it happened at slower speeds. The engine died when at low rev/clutch depressed when slowing down to take corners, roundabout or for traffic lights.it just shuts off itself without any un-special warning light on the dashboard.Even though igniting the car again wasn't a problem,it starts without hesitation. it was a ****** feeling to have the engine die in the middle of the road.It just happens suddenly. The car wasn't choking or anything..
i took my car to the ford garage & they says that, {"they have carried out a diagnostic check, however unfortunately the car has not stored any fault codes as to what is causing the issue, which makes things a little more difficult.
they are suspecting there may be an issue with the throttle body (this incorporates the idle control valve which they think is the issue). they would like to remove this to inspect further. However, if this is the issue and it can't be repaired then a replacement would cost £545.40 inc vat. i wasnt happy with a replacement so they had a better look at the car and found that there was an update for the engine ecu (engine electronic control unit) that controls idle speed / throttle body electronically. They thought it would be worth trying the update as the 1st step before replacing any parts and it seems to have cured the issue, they have tested from hot and cold and it seems to be fine. The total cost would be £56 + VAT, £67.20 inc vat total."}
finally, checked fault.No DTC's present.found PCM update available.carried out & reset keep alive memory.tested from hot and cold.all seems ok.
drive back to home..next day it happens the same again....i don't know,what to do??????Has anyone been able to solve this problem yet, if so pleas let me now...
many thanks
mathew
