my wife had a car accident today.
she did a u-turn in the road and an oncoming car hit her. the police came to the scene and took the other driver to the hospital but there don't seem to be any injuries. my wife is uninjured.
my wife's car is totalled and she accepted fault to the police. she is fully insured and has admitted fault to the insurance company too.
the police have now told her that they will interview her since u-turn in the road is illegal and post that interview, will decide whether they take the case to court or advice her to go on one of the driver-improvement programs.
my wife has never had any accident or even a road fine ever since she commenced driving, which is 10 years back. she is a teacher in a school
understandably she is feeling guilty and we are all stressed.
i will be interested in views on what happens next and if the matter proceeds to court, what will be the severity of the punishment?
thks in advance.
