I have an Audi A3 TDI 1.9 Mk1 3dr (96-03) with a 99 manufacturing year that I just put into MOT for the first time since I got the vehicle in August. It's passed flying colours (after some servicing and TLC) but I couldn't help but notice that my MOT centre did not perform a vehicle smoke test on the car. I'm in Northern Ireland and all our centres are government owned and regulated.
Is this car exempt in some way from the test or is the test random or is there another reason as to why the test wasn't performed? I'm not seeking to look a gift horse in the mouth but at the same time I would also like to know the current pollutant level of my vehicle.
Any advise is greatly received! :)
