Had my renault Master, Mot done yeaterday passed with flying colours, on the way home the van stalled as if out of fuel , turned key it started again, had this problem all the way home. Filled up with diesel just to make sure. checked to day it fired after a long time and petered out after 5 minutes as if out of fuel. Got my son to turn on ignition and I checked under bonnett as the engine turned over fuel was leaking out of the filter, where the base screws on to the top.
Removed filter looks very clean put it back again making sure it was tight, same proble. and when the engine peters out I can see all the fuel going back down the feed pipe.
A garage has told me it is an injector, I find that hard to believe. There are two wires on a connector going into the top of the filter, if I unplug that, the engine will not fire up at all, just lets alot of fuel come out of the filter. The filter is tight on the seal. I will be fitting a new filter tomorrow with new seal hoping, but I still feel it is something to do with the electrical connector (What is the connector for)(( it is on the top of the filter?)).
