An example of senseless stupidity.

Driving home this afternoon, with wife as passenger, we were travelling along a road that was a mix of council houses on one side, and commercial premises on the other side. Two lads, ranging about 10 or twelve, ran across the road from right to left about 60 yards or so in front of me. Silly, but still no real danger there, EXCEPT that, before reaching the nearside pavement, they turned and ran straight at me. Whilst braking, I also sounded my horn and waved them to get off the road. This they did and, as I safely continued on, they immediately ran back into the road behind my car and across the front of the car following me.
How that driver missed them I don't know, because during my braking he had closed up so that he wasn't that far behind me, and probably also resumed his progress forward as the last thing he would have expected was for them to run in front of his car.

If these lads continue with that behaviour, sooner or later one or both is going to end up with serious injuries, or worse. It wouldn't be their fault, of course - simply one more careless driver who should not be on the road!!!
