Hi,
My pensioner mother's LR Freelander feels like its getting towards the point when the next repair won't be worth the cost. I could do with some advice so I can suggest something suitable for her before this happens and she has to make a decision in a rush in an area where she really has no knowledge. She drives about 2,500 miles a year with rarely more than 1 passenger but does load the boot fairly full. She lives in the sticks down unmetalled steep roads which are rock/mud strewn and very badly potholed in winter and flooding not uncommon. I've had a look around and have some thoughts but suggestions for a small(ish) 4x4 with good traction would be helpful. I doubt she wants to spend more than 5k but obviously there is some flex in that for the right car.
