Ford Focus Warning Symbol

I had a problem today, my wouldn't start it's a keyless system. I tried later and it started, but the immobaliser red light kept flashing and I had a message saying
Car Operative Stop. Any ideas as to what is happening and should I take it to a garage to get it checked out
