Break Downs

My family has always been with the RAC and for the past 2 years me and my brother have been with them as well but that will no longer be the case and our whole family is changing to another breakdown service. In 2012 I had 2 breakdowns, on both of these occasions the RAC were very helpful and I even recommended them to friends, I regret this now as over the past few months my brother broke down and was told he was not a member despite taking out a years membership a few months previously, so I had to drive 40 miles from home to help him out and then today exactly the same thing happened to me, I broke down and was told I was not a member anymore despite taking out a membership last September and having a membership card which has a September 2014 expiry date. We had both paid for a years membership. I was also told that as Halfords had changed a fuse on my car earlier today they wouldn't come out even if I was a member as it was Halfords fault and responsibility, it did emerge in the end that the fuse they put in was to blame, but I still believe its an incredibly poor way to treat customers. I won't be using Halfords again and I've just taken out a years Green Flag membership and the rest of my family will be doing likewise when their membership comes up for renewal.
