I really would appreciate any help (although i have very limited car knwoldge)...
About 8 weeks ago I drove my car home and smoke was coming from the right break (front). There was a lot of smoke so I my local ATS centre and they asked me to take it in. They said my break was sticking and I would need new break pad and disc (That prob means more to you then it does to me!). I got my car back....a week later it did it again, I took ti make to ATS who said they took it out for a run, measured the temp of each break and they were the same, took everything (!) apart and could not find anything wrong with it at all. There was no evidence that my breaks were sticking. They simply said to try and come back to them when it is happening. The trouble is I live in a rural area and I am worried my car would catch fire by the time i got it there (can that happen). Anyway.... I took it away and this evening i popped out journey that took me 5 miles and when i stopped i noticed the smoke again. I had a look at at the break and the smoke seemed to be coming from the top right area. Every time it has happened there is a very horrible smell ( very similar to burning clutch).
I am worried that If it take it back tomorrow morning they are going to find nothing wrong with it. Is there anything I can suggest they look at in detail (and possible sound like I know something about cars!).
any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
