Hey, i've been having some issues with my MG ZR 105+ 04 model lately. When i unlock the car the car alarm sounder goes off and then turns itself off after roughly 30 seconds. At first this only happened when i used the key fob to unlock the car. Since then i was locking and unlocking the car manually using the key but a week later this has also started to cause the alarm to go off. When the alarm is going off i can deactivate the immobliser and start the engine with the key fob / key but this doesn't turn off the alarm.
I'm not really sure what to try here as im not a hothead with car electrics even though it may be a very simple alarm system. As far as im aware its a factory alarm. The only additional information i can give is that the windscreen seal has kinked up along the top leaving a gap air/ water can get into but i've not had or spotted any wet patches. All the doors and bonnet shut flush, the boot has a gap i can get my fingers into when closed but im pretty sure this has always been like this or possibly the way the car is designed.
Would just like some suggestions to try before i start getting mechanics and spending £££ i don't have on it.
