Hi all,
I got a Ford Focus 2 and the reg is 2005.
After coming from Holidays, I try to start it and it just went dead after few clicking sounds. I thought it was dead battery as it has happened in the past. Later I asked my colleague to give me a jump start and still the car wouldnt start. We even try starting it with a push but to no vail.
I called the Automania guys and he said it was the key problem. Apparently the car engine wasnt reading the key because the lock sign keep appearing on the dash board. I called the key guy and he was sure 100% that it was a key problem. I called couple of other mechanics and the other 2 said my ecu is gone. If it was key problem then the mileage should appear on the key board once the engine is switched on. I have been told ECU (second hand) will cost me approx £300-£500 not including labor. I am still not sure what the problem is >
What should I do next? IS fixing ECU that expensive?
My car is only worth £800
Anyone with ideas or any who can help.
Thanks
Vikram
