Astra g won't start

Hi all new to the forum.Hope you can help. I have a 01 Astra g 1.7 d with Isuzu engine.it has the usual problems.oil in the expansion tank.recently I disconnected and joined the pipes coming from the oil cooler.as to stop the oil from reaching the tank.Thats was last week.So on the way home tonight.A pipe burst or split.With the result the car ran out of coolant.I didn't notice the gauge going up until the car lost power and cut out.Had to toe it home.The van won't start now.Any ideas please.
