Black box insurance for new drivers

Does one size fit all situations? OK, there are three young drivers who have got insurance using this black box scheme. They have all had warning and increased premiums for erratic driving since April. Now I've been investigating this as regards my own offspring (named driver on my car) and I am really concerned. In the afore-mentioned cases, it's only happened since the changeover of ferry timetables and increase in ferry traffic and ties in with Calmac's warnings about volume of traffic at times that concur with the said offences and busiest days when they are using their vehicles to get to/from work. At least two dates for all three occur when there were major issues with the ferry and all hell let loose! To cut a long story short, what the black box can't cope with is single track roads in a tourist destination in holiday times.

I also would be monitored if the black box was installed and boy! they are completely unable to deal with that situation even though it can be registered who's driving. I'd be shafted for driving on forestry roads or off-road as well as normal single track.

That's what I mean by one size fits all! It doesn't and I'm sure there must be other places where seasonal traffic/ferry flows cause problems with this system. Any advice/suggestions?

PS I have a continuous running battle every darn year and it gets worse each year over home and contents insurance. I live less than quarter of a mile from the sea and even less from a river but I'm in danger of flooding so they try hiking it- they evidently haven't heard of contours and I'm 67.5m and circa 30m respectively.
